Bucharest boasts Europe's largest thermal pool.... so naturally Jolyne and I had to go check it out.

Thermal water is pumped from 3100 meters below ground. The pools and air are always kept warm. Not only is this the largest thermal pool in Europe, but the largest botanical garden in Romania. The palm room allows you to relax among 500 palm trees.
Jolyne enjoyed a facial in the spa area while I sipped a pina colada in the pool bar. This was fantastic - I would go to Romania purely to spend a day in this incredible facility! We went on a Tuesday in September so I bet it was much less crowded than in the peak season!
We thought we were in heaven with the pool, the hot tubs, the lounge chairs, the saunas... then we decided to peek into the "family friendly" area. Woah. I think our lives are changed forever. These slides were INSANE. Jolyne was much braver than I, but I'm proud to admit that we did every slide in that place (and even tried for the kids slides, not understanding the Romanian signs...). This video was made by someone from their experience on the slides. Believe me, it doesn't look nearly as steep/fast/terrifying as it truly was!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPw7qMMScNI I'm happy to report that neither Jolyne nor I sustained any serious injuries (a few wedgies and water up the nose is all).
This was a wonderfully beautiful and fun stop on our trip! I'd love to do it again.
